Data are extracted from https://data.cms.gov/summary-statistics-on-provider-enrollment/medicare-provider-type-reports/cms-program-statistics-medicare-providers. The most recent year for which data are available is 2021.

Psychiatry numbers include Geriatric + Neuropsychiatry + Psychiatry specialty designations. Psychology numbers include Clinical Psychologist + Psychologist Billing Independently designations.

Social Work has shown a 52% increase from 2011 to 2021, exceeding 50,000 (50, 864) for the first time in 2021. Psychiatry has shown a -0.4% decrease 2011 to 2021, with 27,684 listed in 2021. Psychology has increased by 5% from 2011 to 2021, with 29,424 listed in 2021.
